WHO'S JAMEY?

Updated May 12, 2003

I'm a 19-year old film buff attending the University of Saskatchewan, where I have just finished my second year of classes. For the 2002-2003 school term, I was Arts & Entertainment Editor of The Sheaf, the official student newspaper of the U of S (total circluation: 10,000).

I started into journalism at the age of 13. The StarPhoenix, the daily paper in my hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, was gracious enough to publish a weekly movie review column of mine. My writing soon found its way onto the web, and I unveiled my website: movieviews.org, which I maintained from April 1999 to May 2002 with help from my generous hosts at moviething.com. The new site, designed by the web design gurus at Sparrowhaus, has been in operation ever since.

What else is there? I love movies and hot summer days and I'm currently single. Here are some FAQ (...well not really, I made them up - but they are still quite informative):

What's your favorite movie?
"Glory" (the 1989 Civil War story).

What's the worst movie you have ever seen?
Wow, I have seen some really bad ones. The all-time worst would have to be "Freddy Got Fingered".

What were you thinking in your review of (insert movie title here)?!? Are you some kind of friggin' idiot?
Actually, no. People do tend to have opinions that are sometimes different than others. I don't think this is a weird new concept. Please, deal with it.

What genre of film do you particularly enjoy?
Any film of any genre done well is fine by me - although I have an affinity for horror movies. I have seen all of the "Friday the 13th" movies... should I be proud or ashamed of that?

Who is your favorite actor or actress?
Here is a short list of favorites: Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Jim Carrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Julianne Moore, William H. Macy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Paxton, Tom Hanks, Edward Norton.

Would you like to make a career out of film criticism?
Yes, that would be great. I love movies.

Are you insane? That will never happen! You can't work full time as a movie critic.
Eh, we'll see what happens.

More BIO.
